Today in math we looked at adding and subtracting decimals with the help of a number line. The students are very familiar with number lines which was a useful tool in helping them add and substract decimals which is a new concept for grade 4. After looking at the introduction, I did exercise #1 and #2 with them on the board for added practice. The students were given exercises 3, 4, 5, & 6 to complete individually. Those who did not finish will need to do so for homework. Our chapter test is Wednesday, April 12th.
In religion the students finished up their worksheet on the different religious symbols of Easter.
The class had gym outside today.
In social studies, we are in the process of learning about different physical elements of the world. On Thursday we read and discussed mountains. The class completed an illustrated explanation about how mountains evolve.
In sciences we are learning about light. Today we read and discussed how we use light and why it is important in our daily lives.
To end the day, the class had music.
