Thank you to all those who gave to make our Sweat-a-Thon fundraiser a success!

Today in math, I introduced lesson 4 which teaches students how to halve and double facts you already know to calculate other multiplication facts.  I did several examples on the board of this strategy since the students had a lot of questions.  Once the class seemed to understand the concept they completed exercises 1, 3 and 5 individually to reinforce this strategy.  Those who did not finish in class will need to complete for homework.

The class had gym today.

In language arts we read two more chapters in Varjak Paw.  Varjak is adapting to the Outside world and has made two friends.  Although he finds that the world that he came from and the Outside world are very different.  Ask your child to explain this to you.

In social studies the students were given three reflection questions about our last chapter on exploration that identifies positive and negative consequences of exploration.  I will use this as one of my assessment pieces for this chapter.  We will also be being a project on an explorer in the near future.

To end the day the class had music with Ms. O’Keefe.

Please note there will be a early school closure on Feb. 15th.  Students will be dismissed at 2:05.

There are still two students who need to return their forms for vaccination.  Please check with your child.
